Engineered Wood Flooring
The Alternative to Solid Wood
For most people, solid wood flooring is the only flooring of their choice. Because of the timeless beauty and the clean airy feeling, solid wooden floors can add a touch of charm and warmth to any type of space. However, wood flooring can be expensive. Along with that, it should also be looked after well in order to keep it looking beautiful.
As an alternative to wood flooring, engineered wood floors can also be used. This type of flooring has the same beauty and warmth of a wooden floor but its much lesser expensive because of the way that it is made. These floors are made of both hard wood as well as man made products like plywood which are cheaper. The visible wooden layer has the look of a wooden flooring, but is of a little different material which is easy to install and less expensive to make. Real wooden floors can not hold up in damp climatic conditions and can easily get warps and marks. With engineered floors there are fewer such problems.
Even though it might lack the true quality of real wood and though it cannot be refinished or sanded, it is still a practical and an appealing choice for the homeowners that are more budget conscious.
